...In Response to "The Star"...

I'm aware this story is set in the future. With talk of space travel to far and distant places, it is definitely of this era. Also, the site for this story is the search for the one Star of legend, the star that shone over Bethleham at the birth of the King. Every thing with in the story makes sense to me, however, one particular question stands out. Where is the Earth in this story? I'm not aware that there was any mention as to the Earth still being alive and well. There was talk of a lunar space station from which the explorers orriginated, but none of the Earth.

...So Far in "Watchmen" (continued from 03/26/07)...

We return from leaving the star of our story, Rorschach, in the process of informing other viligantes of his suspicions on the motive in the previously discussed murder of Edward Blake a.k.a. The Commedian. Returning we find ourselves amongest a group of well known men and women known formly as the Crime Busters. They've come to pay their last repects to a man whom they may not have respected as much while he was alive as they did after his death. Memebers of the old group of viligantes such as Mr. Manhattan, Night Owl, and Ozymandias are present and are very aware of the life The Comedian lived at their sides. Each to his own story and no one protrays Eddie in any brighter ligt than the next. Even accross the country in a retirement home, another memeber of the once Crime Busters, Mrs. Jupiter, remembers her encounter with Eddie. It would be probably just to say that the Comedian left with a bigger bang than anyone ever thought he would.
Even with all the sadness surrounding the funerual, we can still see that there is one missing, one that is very important to this stories line. Rorschach is not present. This may be because of his various warrents for arrest mentioned briefly, or it could be for any of a number of other reasons unknown to us at the moment.
Our attention foccuses on one particular character present at the funeral, his name is not know as this time. However we follow him back to his residence. As he begins to settle down by taking off his coat and hat, he reaches for the fridge to grab a bite to eat. Suddenly the answer to Rorschah's location is answered as we find our hero pouncing out of the refirdgerator and onto the unsuspecting resident. We learn through Rorschah's interrogation that the particular resident is the once villianness character known as Moloch the Mystic. Moloch ends up spilling a key scene to the mystery to the days leading up to Eddie's death, which includes the unannounced visit made by the Comedian to Moloch.
With this new information in mind, Rorschah leaves Moloch's residence and heads towards the scene where he was missed earlier. He picks his way through the tall, black, iron gate to the cemetary to pay his own last respect to Eddie.

...So Far in "Watchmen"...

The year is 1985. We find ourselves right smack in the middle of a police crime scene investigating the mysterious death of Edward Blake. Unknown to us at the time, Blake is actually the federally funded vigilante named The Commedian.
After police leave the scene for the night, a creeping shadow appears from the dark to preform an investigation of his own. This shadow's name is Rorschach. As he searches the small appartment, owned by blake before his passing, he discovers the secert identity of the victim and makes it his key focus point for the investigation.
Rorschach, deciding he's gathered enough then goes to several other once masked vigilantes to either recriut help for his investigation, or to warn them about the potential threat to their lives.
